The first professional introduction of the dream ego theory, where the oniric conscience (the I in dreams) is recognized, thus confirming a suggestion by Carl G. Jung of the dream, ego as a prefiguration of the waking ego as the nightly workshop of personal character formation. The author develops this idea validated by ample clinical material and constructs a model of the dreaming process as an intense feedback mechanism aimed towards the actualization of an individual’s inherent potential. The Dream Ego Theory is the conceptual base of a new psychotherapeutic model called by the author oneirotherapy, and which constitutes the starting point of several books in progress: Oneirotherapy: Theory and Practice; The Dream Ego Theory and Personal Development; Oniric Dictionary.
